I've been preoccupied recently; time just slips by and you don't get anything done. Recently, preoccupation has involved letting network gaming keep me at work late too many times a week, plus a certain necessary messing-around with respect to my wrist and disordered sleeping patterns, particularly on weekends. All of this taken together has kept me off-balance for the last couple of weeks; not writing entries is symptomatic of this. My two pet insecurities of the moment (being single, financial matters) have also taken the opportunity to grow and are going to require vigorous pruning back.
But the tide feels like it's turning just at the moment. I'm sure this means nothing to you, but I need to consolidate my study of anatomy, my rollerblading, work on Calumny and my sleeping patterns. Anyway. Whatever.
I bought the Powerpuff Girls Movie on DVD the other day. I'm glad I did. It's a really beautiful movie. The souped up rendition of the closing song rocks very hard indeed. Also, halfway through, Mojo Jojo slinks out of an alleyway, grabs a newspaper and reads it. On the back, an article reads:
Dear Donna,
I am faced with the prospect of completing an entire animated feature in less than six months, when the original schedule was thirty-six weeks. The stress is becoming unbearable. What should I do?
Dear -illegible-,
I recommend quitting the industry altogether and moving somewhere like Rhode Island.
Yay!
Remind me to talk about the end of the World of Darkness tomorrow. |
