So this evening I spent the Sanity voucher I got at the office Kris Kringle thing on S-Club - Seeing Double (somewhat against my better judgement). Well, it wasn't too bad. The band members themselves all seem pretty cool in the interviews. Bono (out of U2) whenever they're interviewing him always makes something of a point of mentioning how rock and roll as such and his stage persona in particular are fantasy but for all that he somehow manages to take himself waaaay more seriously than any of the S-Club do. Well, probably because it doesn't seem to have even occurred to them to regard themselves as rock stars, whereas Bono comes across as having spent just a little bit more time considering his own rockstar-ness than is likely really healthy.
Spent 90 minutes trying to decide whether to get Seeing Double, the Gorrillaz DVD, the Beastie Boys video collection, the first of Bjork's video DVDs, the Pulp DVD or Transatlanticism. New Year's resolution number five was to avoid places where I tend to spend money, in respect of which oooops. |
