Spent five minutes today swearing at the thing in the drawer most likely to be a can opener before I managed to figure out how to open a can with it. But I managed to open the can in the end so I guess everybody won.
Saw Alien Versus Predator this evening. It was a bit light on plot. But I got to see the inside of a predator spacecraft, I got to see some aliens (the design seems to have stabilised to the point of there being a canonical version), the opening shot is very nice if a little cheesy once the trick is revealed, it's always nice to see Lance Henricksen and somehow that's enough. The aliens were nastier than I expected them to be, but it would have been nice if there were more of them. And the Resident Evil: Apocalypse trailer kicks ass.
We seem to live in a world almost entirely constructed of sentiment. No, that's not right. But the shape of the world we perceive around us depends on the perceptions of sentiment rather than those of intellect, even if the details are all supplied by the intellect. I think. I'm not sure. |
